Gutting fish and cooking it on the fire.
We took the children to buy fish and gutted and prepared it together. This gave the children lots of opportunities to talk about what they were seeing and to learn the names of the different parts of the fish. They were able to ask questions about what they were seeing and touch the fish.
One child commented “ I can see the eyes” another said “Why does the fish have blood? The children learnt the correct names of the different parts of the fish, fins, scales, etc and then we cooked it on the fire before eating it.
