All of our children aged 3 and 4 go to Forest school at some point during their time at Kay Rowe. We run morning and afternoon sessions weekly. We are very lucky in having woodland near us in Wanstead park and on Wanstead flats and we also use our wonderful garden. We go on a ‘beach school’ session at the end of every Forest School programme when we go to Chalkwell to explore the beach environment.
Forest school gives your child the chance to explore the natural world around them within a safe context, they can climb trees, collect conkers, saw branches, make dens and sit around a fire. Children. Forest school can help children gain confidence, develop social, physical and communication skills as well as a greater understanding of the world around them.
Our sessions are led by a trained level 3 Forest school leader and experienced assistants.
